Young to old (older) race every Sunday. I'm not sure how many years they have been racing but I know I watched my kids race starting in 1989.

Snow guns in wait. The guns are stored off of the major runs during active skiing times. Snow making has given Mt. Ashwabay the ability to extend it's season. For many years the hill had to depend solely on nature for it's snow. Now all they need is cold weather.

This is a the view from the top of Mt. Ashwabay. Actually it's the view from one of the starting gates of the new starting house on the top of the hill. The new starting house has four gates, two starter positions and a large heated room for the skiers to warm in before a race. Mt. Ashwabay has a long history of encouraging skiing and ski racing. Notice the open water. This photo was taken on January 14, 2006. Click on the photo (any photo) for a larger version. Mt Ashwabay needs your help and input. The Ashwabay Outdoor Educational Foundation, Inc., AOEF, a 501-c3, non-profit corporation, purchased the Recreation Area about a month ago. While we have great plans to make Mt. Ashwabay the premiere outdoor receational area in the Upper Midwest, we need your help in getting there. Tell us what you can do to help grow Mt Ashwabay! We are in need of folks to help in all facets of the operations, from public relations to snowmaking. If you want to see Mt. Ashwabay grow, lend a hand!
